Duck hunting in
Argentina
Where we hunt:
Duck hunting is done in Corrientes province, Esquina city.
Corrientes is probably the best province where you can hunt ducks in Argentina.
The field where we hunt is plain, it combines jungle with the swamps in it.
Besides, rice is cultivated in this area.
This combination results in the ideal conditions for ducks reproduction. The limit is 40 ducks per day, but it is normal to hunt in between 25 and 30 ducks in the morning per hunter.
Ducks are hunted from blinds built with regional vegetation and decoys in the water using whistles.
Every day we change swamps so as to have a top quality hunting
These are the duck species you may
expect to shoot:
- Rosy-billed Pochard
- White-faced whistling duck
- Speckeld teal
- Silver teal
- Southern Wigeon
- Brazilian duck
- Red Shoveler
- White-cheeked pintail
- Brown pintail.
- Fulvous tree duck
- Cinnamon teal
Description of a typical duck hunting day:
Following an early American breakfast, hunters are transported to the field. Accompanying each hunter is a guide or birdboy who carries shells, places the hunters in the blind, sets decoys, calls the birds and caters to every need.
Before noon, hunters return to the house for drinks and lunch. Following a little 'siesta', they return to the field for the afternoon hunt.
Duck hunts take place in the morning and during the afternoon we turn to the perdiz hunt.
